The Hope Center served approximately 30,000 people in 2003 of which 75% were women and children. Problems seen at Hope Center include divorce, unemployment, illness, homelessness, and child abuse.
An important function of Hope Center is to provide referral service to clients on resources available to them in the Oklahoma County area. The Hope Center strives to focus on long term solutions to client problems by requiring them to complete a specific plan to improve their situation, such as, look for employment, apply for disability, reduce expenses, or seek financial counseling.
The Hope Center was started in 1984 by the Ministerial Alliance of Edmond and the Edmond Women's Club
The Edmond community gives over $100,000 each year to the Samaritan Fund Drive which allows Hope Center to minister to the needy in Edmond
Edmond schools and organizations organize food, clothing and diaper drives to benefit Hope Center families
The Hope Center receives Community Block Grants to assist needy families with prescriptions and transportation
Hope Center, with the City of Edmond's help, provides Edmond children with school supplies
You and your child can volunteer as a team in the food or clothing rooms if you are 15 years old (or older) you can volunteer in the food or clothing room
The Hope Center Clinic gives immunizations on the 2 and 4 Wednesdays of each month from 3:30-5:00
The Hope Center Clinic distributes WIC vouchers
The Hope Center has a Christmas Program that provides Christmas to needy families.
