In 1984, the Edmond Ministerial Alliance and the Edmond Women's Club founded the Hope Center (Help Our People In Emergencies), a non-profit social service agency serving those in need in northern Oklahoma County. Through the formation of this clearinghouse agency, Hope gives consistent, equitable treatment to all in need in a central location where churches, local police, fire departments, area schools, and individuals from the community can refer families needing help.
In 1990, the Hope Center Health Clinic was formed to help meet the growing need for prenatal care for area patients who could not afford adequate medical care. Services have expanded dramatically through the years. In the past several years, Hope Clinic has given over 78,000 units of service to those requesting help and meeting eligibility requirements.
Hope Center and Hope Health Clinic have 501C3 non-profit designations and the agencies are overseen by the Edmond Ministerial Alliance (local clergymen from the Edmond community). |
